Position:  Cloud Solutions Manager

Location: Remote (primary) with occasional on-site activities required at the client site in the Northern Capital Region (DC Metro).

Security Clearance Requirement: Must possess at minimum a Department of Defense (DoD) issued Secret Clearance. Applicants must be U.S. citizens and must be capable of maintaining a Department of Defense (DoD) issued security clearance during employment.

Description

The Cloud Solutions Manager supports our client leadership overseeing the development of detailed cloud architecture for designing and building secure, high-performing, resilient and efficient infrastructure services on the AWS platform. S/he is responsible for planning and coordinating Cloud based projects and other enablers to ensure business objectives are accomplished and solutions follow well-architected principles of security, reliability, performance efficiency, operational excellence, cost optimization and sustainability.

The Cloud Solutions Manager will collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to establish or enhance the clients’ governance, policy, processes, and procedures to align with program and project management.

The Cloud Solutions Manager is also responsible for developing and updating documents related to Infrastructure and/or Engineering services, e.g., planning and strategy documents, workflows (including control and data flows) among system components, DoDAF views as well as executive briefings on the solution planning, architecture, security and compliance, governance, and processes for infrastructure services.

Duties Include

  • Collaborate with various stakeholders to analyze and recommend best practices for the design, development, implementation, and sustainment of infrastructure services in Cloud, especially AWS, to support mission applications.

  • Support driving infrastructure solutions, architecture design, management, integration, user experience requirements, system integration development, acceptance test definition and service modeling including interfaces to internal and external systems, and when appropriate for service deployment automation from concept to execution to general release

  • Organize, facilitate, or participate in technical and non-technical planning, review, brainstorming sessions to fully understand and articulate clients’ system requirements, support roadmap development and gap analysis, manage stakeholder expectations, and incorporate user feedback to improve infrastructure solutions

  • Review and validate architecture design as well as help establish governance and processes for operations.

  • Inspect and identify continuous improvements opportunities between vendors and internal teams - tools, logs, and process as well as actively advance the lean processes to drive efficiency and improve effectiveness while supporting organic maturation of teams

  • Build proofs-of-concept (POC) and organize demos occasionally to address specific business needs using the most appropriate techniques, tools, processes, and technologies, etc.

  • Lead and manage the customer (internal/external) during solution discussions, scoping, timelines discussion and other needed activities to achieve effective solution closure and serve as a trusted advisor

  • Prepare and review briefings, white papers, and other project documentation for infrastructure solutions.  Help the team visualize and understand priorities and impact to program delivery for effective backlog planning, track tasks and schedule for standardized progress reporting, analyze solution alternatives for sound decision making, etc.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and able to work with technical partners to come to a solution

  • Well versed in current Cloud technologies, Agile methodologies, and Digital Technology lifecycle processes and infrastructure services with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced cross-functional environment

  • Working knowledge of how to leverage Digital Technology capabilities to meet business needs with proven experience in solution implementation processes, including requirements gathering, analysis and design, development of tools and technologies, release and version control, testing methodologies, and deployment

  • Effective communication (verbal and written), influencing and negotiation skills with the ability to communicate requirements and schedules for adherence to standards as well as present and explain technical information to executives, technical and non-technical teams

  • Knowledge of DevOps, infrastructure, and security standards

  • Technical knowledge on servers, storage, network, security, and shared resources, etc., e.g., EC2, IAM, S3, VPC, Lambda, Snowball, and Glue etc.

  • Proficient in the MS Office Suites and SharePoint technology and working knowledge in hardware, network, and systems software with the ability to deliver projects using leading-edge technology
