Description
The Data Solutions Manager supports our client leadership by contributing to the strategizing, design and implementation of agile, scalable, and efficient data management solutions that can handle increasing levels of data volume, variety and velocity in modern data architecture. S/he will support AWS Data Platform projects, collaborating with Business Analysts, Solution Architects, System Owners, Data Engineers and other Data Architects to understand external data sources, use cases, data models, and outcome objectives.
The Data Solutions Manager will support the creation and maintenance of a data infrastructure to extract, cleanse, and organize data for authorized individuals to access.
The Data Solutions Manager is also responsible for developing and updating documents related to data services, e.g., planning and strategy documents relating to data migration, integration and operations as well as executive briefings on the solution planning, architecture, security and compliance, governance, and processes for data services.
Duties Include

Collaborate with various stakeholders including program and team leadership, business analysts, solution architects, data architects, system engineers, operation admins to provide tradeoffs and recommendations towards building scalable and efficient data services

Organize, facilitate, or participate in technical and non-technical planning, review, brainstorming sessions to fully understand and articulate clients’ data management and analytics services requirements

Analyze and recommend best practices for the design, development, and implementation of end-to-end data solutions (ingestion, storage, integration, processing, access, etc.) in Cloud, especially AWS

Review and validate data architecture design as well as help establish governance and processes for data operations

Analyze and recommend architecture refinement to achieve cost savings in AWS and develop recommendations and plans to right-size AWS data infrastructure

Build proofs-of-concept (POC) occasionally to address specific business needs using the most appropriate techniques, data sources and technologies

Prepare and review briefings, white papers, and other project documentation for data solutions. Help the team visualize and understand priorities and impact to program delivery for effective backlog planning, track tasks and schedule for standardized progress reporting, analyze solution alternatives for sound decision making, etc.

Knowledge and skills in Data and Analytics in all phases of the SDLC life cycle and Big Data Architectures, Cloud and on premise

In-depth knowledge in migrating workloads from legacy on premise systems to Cloud environment

Working knowledge and skills in technology consulting, development, enterprise and solutions architecture and architectural frameworks in AWS/Azure Data and Analytics platform

Working knowledge in data management architectures and tools

Working knowledge in data operations (active intake, classifying, cleansing, organization, cataloging, stagging, protection, and auditing as well as data quality management, access management and metadata management, etc.)

Strong visual design orientation and experience in specifications, technical design, development and addressing performance issues

Team player, motivated to learn new technologies, and able to grasp concepts and technologies quickly with analytical and problem-solving skills

Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills with the ability to present and explain technical information to executives as well as technical and non-technical teams
