Position: Identity and Access Management (IAM/IdAM) Consultant/Architect

Skill Level: Senior. Minimum of 15 years of technology experience with at least 5-years specialized experience with Identity and Access Management (Ex. LDAP, Microsoft Active Directory) integration, systems engineering and/or administration experience. Specialized experience also includes supervision of system architects, comprehensive knowledge of systems engineering principles, methods, and techniques. Additionally, must have experience analyzing user needs and performing research and functional analysis on a variety of technology-based projects.

Location: Fairfax, VA / Arlington, VA / Washington, D.C. Remote/telework option included with some local travel to sites within the National Capital Region.

Security Clearance Requirement: Minimum DoD SECRET Clearance level.

Description

This is a Senior Identity and Access Management technology consulting role, to provide strategic, in-depth technical expertise in Identity and Access Management (IAM) solutions and involving the development, execution, and maintenance of enterprise wide IAM technologies on a critical US Department of Defense (DoD) program. We are primarily looking for someone with senior level IAM solutions development or integration skills and experience.

We are looking for a candidate with significant Identity and Access Management program and project leadership experience, combining architectural, technical and operational hands-on expertise with solid management, communication and interpersonal skills and IAM thought leadership. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience meeting challenges and complexity, bringing clarity and success in resolving complex business problems in both Architectural/Technical and Operational settings.

In this role, you will assist in providing Identity and Access Management technical services involving the directory enablement and integration of DoD enterprise-wide information sharing capability solutions that include web browsing, Wide Area Network (WAN) transport, CHAT/Instant Message, SharePoint, Email, Video and Voice.

In this capacity, you will implement IAM service enhancements to share DoD enterprise solutions directory information with its Mission Partners. You will work independently as well as under the auspices of site, network leads, and systems leads to design, test, build, and implement Directory Synchronization service(s) for DoD enterprise solutions.

Duties Include

  • Participate in the design, build, test and implementation of  IAM solutions that include Directory Synchronization service(s) for specific DoD systems, the use of Active Directory Federated Services (ADFS) based authentication, enabling Directory Services on IP-based collaboration services, integration of directory systems within partnered environments (at an enterprise or global scale).

  • Use IAM directory integration tools in support of IAM operational management and including Global Address List Synchronization (GAL Sync)

  • Provide recommendations in optimizing the client’s infrastructure or processes related to IAM.

  • Manage client expectations and translate business requirements into an IAM solution design.

  • Create/maintain system diagrams, schemas, and documentation.

  • Interact with users and evaluates vendor products.

  • Make recommendations to purchase hardware and software, coordinates installation and provides backup recovery.

  • Develops and monitors policies and standards for allocation related to the use of computing resources.

  • May need program in an administrative language.

  • Develop and implement testing strategies and document results.

  • Provide advice and training to end-users.

  • Maintain current knowledge of relevant technologies as assigned.

  • Participate in special projects as required

Desired Skills

  • Personnel must be U.S. citizens and capable of obtaining and maintaining a minimum DoD SECRET Clearance level or preferably a final DoD TS/SCI security clearance.

  • Identity and Access Management (IAM) Solution Architecture and or Systems Engineering experience

  • Experience with Active Directory (LDAP, Microsoft), Federation Services (ex. ADFS), Global Access List (GAL) synchronization, Identity, Credentials & Access Management (ICAM) solutions including Public Key Infrastructure (PKI)

  • Experience analyzing user needs and performing market research and analysis on technical subjects or products.

  • Experience performing functional analysis on business requirements for varying projects or technical initiatives

  • Experience working within a DoD program or project and with full SDLC participation experience in a technical capacity. 

  • Experience working within a DoD Classified environment and on a Classified program or project (optional but recommended)

  • Ability to meet DoD 8570 compliance with IAT level II access (reference: https://resources.infosecinstitute.com/dod-8570-iat-certification-requirements/#gref

  • ITIL v3 Foundations (optional but recommended)
